Our Kickstarter campaign ended on September 22. In 36 days, 4,634 people backed immurok and pledged S$480,299. Our goal was S$3,000.
Thank you. Most of you have never held an immurok. You backed a small team and a device that is not in stores yet, based only on what we showed and what we said we would do. That is a lot of trust, and we do not take it lightly.
How the campaign went
The first day brought 633 backers and S$56,135. After that the line never went flat. Some days were quiet, but every single day someone new joined.
What happens next
We are moving into production now. The pilot run is behind us, and it taught us what it needed to teach us. The work now is less exciting and more important: build every unit well, test every unit, and ship.
We will post progress on Kickstarter and here on the blog as each step is done. When something goes wrong, we will tell you that too. Our only goal is to get a key that works into your hands as soon as we can, without cutting corners.
Build it with us
immurok is open. The macOS, Windows and Linux apps are open source under Apache 2.0, and the firmware and hardware designs are public too. Everything is at github.com/immurok.
A fingerprint key can do much more than we have built so far. If you want support for another password manager, a new Linux desktop, or an idea we have not thought of, you do not have to wait for us. Open an issue, send a pull request, or just read the code and tell us what we got wrong. The more people who look at it, the safer and more useful it gets for everyone.
Thank you again for backing us. Now we go build it.
